170 year-old pub given major refurbishment by singer and local resident
Singer and local resident James Blunt has officially reopened
The Fox and Pheasant pub in The Billings, off Fulham Road on the borders of Chelsea and Fulham.
James, whose real name is Blount, set up Blunt Pubs early last year along with his father Charles when he took over the then empty premises from Greene King.
The Fox and Pheasant dates back to 1846, when it was originally called the Bedford Arms. It was then renamed the Prince of Wales but gained its current name in 1965.
He and his wife Sofia said they planned to preserve the pub’s character and 1930s interior and improve its menu, including Saturday brunch and Sunday lunch.
Since then it has undergone a major refurbishment, including adding a retractable roof over the back garden to create a conservatory and the addition of exensive greenery including olive trees.
The new young management team installed at the pub are offering a menu with both full meals and bar snacks and real ales, wines and classic cocktails.
If you plump instead for still or sparkling water at £2 a bottle, half will be donated to the Blue Marine Foundation, a charity dedicated to creating marine reserves and establishing sustainable models of fishing.

The Fox and Pheasant is helping to breathe life back into the area on the Fulham/Chelsea borders which falls between the busy Chelsea 'beach' to the east and Fulham Broadway to the west.
Along with neighbouring pubs, The Chelsea Pensioner on the corner of the Billings, The Butcher's Hook on Fulham Road and Frankie's Sports Bar and Diner within Stamford Bridge, this 'in-between' area is becoming a social hub - even between football seasons.
