12 Hammersmith Grove Set to Become Centre for Local Start-Ups

WeWork, which provides coworking space will take over one third of building

WeWork, which provides office space for start-ups and businesses of all sizes, is the latest company to announce it is moving into 12 Hammersmith Grove in Hammersmith town centre.

WeWork, which already has 22 offices across London among 216 across the world, has signed a lease to occupy around one third of the new office building.

It will join Hollywood agency CAA, plus Perform Media Services and Medidata Solutions in 12 Hammersmith Grove and the partnership behind the development, Aberdeen Standard Investments and regeneration specialist U+I, says three quarters of the building is now occupied.

On its website, WeWork tells potential clients in Hammersmith: "WeWork is a global network of workspaces where companies grow together. At this convenient address, discover floors of coworking and private offices that cater to needs you didn’t even know you had.

"Our spaces are designed to promote productivity whether you’re a team of one or 100, and month-to-month flexibility means your space is just as agile as you are.

"Plus, one all-inclusive rate makes things easy. Any workspace can have a lounge, but ours are decorated with custom murals. Your old office might have had a coffee pot, but ours has a micro-roasted coffee bar and fresh fruit water.

"We’ve considered every detail so you can focus on your business. Beyond desks, staff, and amenities, find a community of forward-thinking companies and in-house events that connect you organically.

"More information on this location is coming soon, but we’re gladly accepting inquiries. Get in touch today to schedule a visit."

Among the amenities promised in the building are arcade, brainstorming, wellness and meditation/quiet rooms, bike storage and outdoor and event space. It will also be dog friendly, with clients invited to bring their pups to work.

Anyone interested can now register on the website.

Patrick Nelson, Executive Vice President of Real Estate at WeWork says: "We have an existing 20,000 member community in London which provides us with a unique and unrivalled understanding of the requirements of start-ups and entrepreneurs, as well as growing and established corporations.

"We're excited to announce our expansion in West London with our latest WeWork location, in 12 Hammersmith Grove. This is our 23rd WeWork to be announced in the UK."

H+I says that interest in the remaining 4th and 5th floors of the ten storey building is strong, with further deals expected to be announced soon.

Simon Hesketh, Head of Regeneration, U+I says:
"Hammersmith is firmly established as a hub for ambitious brands, and 12 Hammersmith Grove has further enriched this business community, setting a new benchmark for office space in West London.

"We are delighted with the progress we are making, and with the calibre of occupiers that the building is attracting."
