Woman Jogger Injured in King Street Accident


Road closed this morning after victim was hit by car on zebra crossing

A woman aged 28 has suffered serious head and leg injuries in an accident which took place this morning, Tuesday August 6 in King Street.

The street was partially closed for some after the accident, which took place on the zebra crossing opposite the Cineworld cinema.

According to witnesses, the woman was jogging across King Street on the crossing when she was hit by a car and flung into the air.

A spokesman for London Ambulance said: "We were called at 9:52am to reports of a road traffic collision between a pedestrian and a car. We sent one ambulance crew and two car responders.

" The patient was a 28 year-old woman with head and ankle injuries. She was taken by ambulance to St Mary's Paddington Hospital's major trauma centre."

The driver of the car has been arrested.
