There was serious disruption to traffic this Tuesday afternoon (4 October) in the Hammersmith area.

Two cars were in a collision on the east bound carriageway of the A4 Talgarth Road just before Hammersmith Flyover. It is not believed anyone was seriously hurt but one of the cars mounted the bonnet of the other. The incident required the closure of one of the lanes on the road.

This happened just as the Hammersmith Gyratory was being reopened following a security alert outisde Hammersmith tube station. A controlled explosion was carried out on a bag that was left in a bin outside the station.
