Woman's Body Found By A4 in Hammersmith


Police say that at this stage the death is unexplained

The body of a woman, believed to be in her fifties, was discovered by the A4 in Hammersmith in the early hours of Tuesday morning (2 June).

Police say they are treating the death as unexplained.

The woman was found by the side of the westbound carriageway close to the junction with North End Road.

Two lanes of the A4 were closed while forensics officers worked at the scene from a blue tent.

The Metropolitan Police said, “Police were called at approximately 2.45am on Tuesday (June 2) to Talgarth Road, W14 following reports of concern for the welfare of a woman.

“Police and London Ambulance Service attended and found an unresponsive woman.

“Despite the efforts of LAS, the woman, thought to be in her fifties, was declared dead at the scene.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained.”
