Hammersmith British Heart Foundation Shop Seeks Volunteers
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) Shop at 127 King Street, Hammersmith is appealing for big hearted local people to join its volunteer team. BHF Shop Area Manager Elkie Woodbridge hopes to encourage more local people to give a few hours of their time to help in the shop either as a time to time volunteer or on a regular basis.
As well as being worthwhile, volunteering in a BHF Shop is something practical that people can do to help the charity fight heart disease. Volunteers are absolutely essential to the success of the BHF. In a survey conducted by the BHF around 96% of volunteers said they enjoy working at their local BHF Shop, with 98% saying that they would recommend it to a friend or relative. With volunteers help, BHF Shops raise a staggering £9 million every year.
Elkie Woodbridge, Area Manager for the BHF Shops explains: “Volunteering is extremely sociable and offers people a great opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills. There are no age restrictions – enthusiasm and a desire to help are all that is required!”
