Reward for recovery of jewellery taken from Musard Road
A couple resident on Musard Road, W6 appear to have been the victims of an opportunistic burglar who struck lucky when he found two valuable antique diamond rings in their home.
A £1000 reward has been offered for the return of the rings which are worth up to £60,000. Both rings are identical in appearance but one is slightly larger than the other. The rings have a platinum or white gold band with three distinctively large diamonds in a row, each diamond held in a claw. They were not insured.
The incident took place in the early hours of 18th January. The 58 year old victim stated that she had gone to bed about midnight and was awoken when she saw a light from downstairs. She believed it was her husband who had left it on and so she left it.
In the morning at about 6:00am she came downstairs to discover that the front door was open. All the lights had been left on and some items around the living room seemed disturbed. The only room from which items were missing was her first floor office. Her mobile phone had been taken and whoever had been in her house had gone through her handbags, they opened a purse and took cash and a credit card. Also taken were the two gold platinum rings. These had been in her husband’s family for a long time and were each worth in the region of £15,000 to £30,000.
The woman was asleep with her husband on the fourth floor but did not hear or see any suspects. The windows on the ground floor are painted shut and the only entry could have been through the front door, which was not double locked.
