HammersmithLondon Wins National Award

Named BID of the Year for work on Hammersmith flyunder plans

A BID, short for Business Improvement District is a not-for-profit organisation providing additional or improved services in towns.

HammersmithLondon is responsible for delivering Hammersmith's BID, a new type of public-private partnership in which local businesses identify and fund improvements in the Town Centre.

The awards celebrate valuable programmes and projects which are helping to improve high streets and city centres and this year our local BID was nominated for its work on the Hammersmith Flyunder project, which it has been lobbying for since 2012.

This culminated  this year in the publication and submission of the HammersmithLondon economic study to Transport for London as part of a feasibility study and the subsequent backing of the scheme by Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.

HammersmithLondon were up against four other BIDS for the title, all of which promoted a specific project from each area.

Executive Director Arun Sondhi said: " We are absolutely thrilled at being named BID of the year. It was such an honour to be nominated for the award, especially as all the nominees had put a tremendous amount of hard work into their individual projects. I am grateful to the HammersmithLondon BID team for their continual hard work and support with the ongoing project."
