What a Difference a Year Makes!

This was the snowy scene in Hammersmith this week in 2018

While February 2019 is ending with warm sunny days in West London, it was a very different picture a year ago.

On February 28,  Hammersmith was under a blanket of snow, and local people were been out and about braving the chill to capture pictures of the wintry scenes.

H&F Council were quick off the mark, tweeting this snap of Hammersmith Bridge and Riverside @LBHF:

This was followed by a second photo of Ravenscourt Park:

In the centre of Hammersmith, St Paul's Church tweeted this pic @StPaulsChurch of what it calls Snowday:

Even more central was this picture taken from the offices of agency Saleslogic @saleslogicjobs overlooking Hammersmith Broadway:

Down on the river meanwhile, The Crabtree pub tweeted @TheCrabtreeW6 this very chilly photo of "our very own winter wonderland!"

The bad news from the Met Office that temperatures will return to around average for the time of year, with a wet and windy March in store - but at least there's no prospect of snow on the the horizon.
