Enjoy Music, Movies and Art at St Peter's Church

Cultural programme Quidam offers free and low cost events throughout autumn

In the coming weeks it is offering music, art, talks and a pantomime is also on the cards.

Quidam co-ordinator Caroline Langton says: "Our principal aim in setting up the Quidam events programme was to attract more local people into our beautiful church as it is as much their heritage as the worshipping community.

"We want the profile of St Peter's to be raised and for people to regard it as a friendly, interesting, beautiful, historic place of culture and fellowship, with no overt religious messaging at all."

Here's what's happening in October:

The performance will also feature a live guided meditation by yoga therapist, Tatum De Roeck. Featuring the music of JS Bach, Gounod and Hildegard Von Bingen.

Friday 12 October, 7.45pm - Quidam Film Night, Cinema Paradiso

Cinema Paradiso

Young Salvatore Di Vita (Salvatore Cascio) discovers the perfect escape from life in his war-torn Sicilian village: the Cinema Paradiso movie house, where projectionist Alfredo (Philippe Noiret) instills in the boy a deep love of films. When Salvatore grows up, falls in love with a beautiful local girl (Agnese Nano) and takes over as the Paradiso’s projectionist, Alfredo must convince Salvatore to leave his small town and pursue his passion for filmmaking.
