Zipwire Challenge Has Been Cancelled

Ravenscourt Park event would have raised funds for St Peter's School

A Zipwire Challenge which was to have taken place in Ravenscourt Park on July 4 and 5 has been cancelled.

The challenge, which would have seen volunteers flying down a 250metre-long and 40metre-high zipwire was to be part of a local fundraising effort for St Peter's Primary School in Hammersmith.

St Peter’s School, built in 1849, is currently spread over three sites, two which have been around since the Victorian period and another 1960s block. But now the teaching is being brought under one roof as the buildings are transformed and completely modernised.

Work at the school, in St Peter’s Road, is expected to be completed by September 2016 and has been paid for by Hammersmith & Fulham Council and the London Diocesan Board for Schools.

Now fundraising is underway by governors and the Friends of St Peter’s PTA to raise a further £300,000 for improvements including new computers, interactive white boards, and play and quiet spaces.
