Calling All Amateur Singers!

Addison Singers looking for new recruits

The Addison Singers Chamber Choir, based in London W6 and W4, is actively looking for enthusiastic new members, especially basses, for its exciting new music programme for 2014.

The Choir is a well established group of around 25 skilled singers rehearsing in Hammersmith on Wednesday evenings, and singing a varied and interesting repertoire of music, including contemporary pieces (some written especially for them by well-known composers) and more traditional pieces.

As well as three Concerts during the year they are performing in the Brandenburg Festival in February, and possibly again in March.

You do need to be able to sing and read music fairly well, and whilst good sight-reading is useful it’s not essential. What’s more important is the ability and willingness to pick up music quickly and to practice on your own.

Their Jazz Ensemble is a small mixed group of auditioned singers who enjoy singing jazz and jazz standards, including some pieces written for the group.  They rehearse on Monday evenings in W6, perform in West London, and are currently particularly seeking tenors.

If you’re interested in either choir, please come for an informal audition! If you prefer, they also have classical and jazz unauditioned choirs.
