Osterley Bookshop Annual Revamp And Renewal Sale

Visit this gem of a bookshop this September for incredible bargains

It’s been a corking year here at the bookshop. You appear to be egging us on by buying every obscure title we try to outwit you with, which makes our stock-buying really enjoyable.

However, now is the season of our revamp (our seventh): From 1st - 30th September, all books under £8 (that’s probably 70% of our stock) will be half price – including 1st editions, out-of-print, current titles, classics and just jolly good reads.

This annual event ( which scares the pants off us as we watch piles and piles of carefully chosen stock fly out the door at negligible prices) brings us new customers who find delight in clearing some of our ‘dustier’ books, and means our regulars stock up at bargain prices for those cold, dark, wet months (sorry), snuggled by the radiator with a good read - and we get to restock with an overabundance of newly-sourced stock (and by looking at a few random titles, can’t even imagine which section they might fit in! – we’ll have to start a ‘Mongrels’ department).

For non-bookists we’ve a tiny room stuffed full of curios, and an equally peculiar range of greetings cards.

We’ve been featured on ‘The Robert Elms Show’ BBC Radio London; as The Bookshop in the film ‘The Buddha of Suburbia’; and in the Desi Movie “Strangers”, featuring Nandana Sen. Despite being two minutes from Robert Adams’ masterpiece Osterley House, the Guardian newspaper described us as ‘The Jewel in Osterley’s Crown’.
