Sponsored entrants wanted to raise money for Cancer Research

Charity walkers will be stepping out to help make a million pounds in the London Pride Walk and Fun Run for Cancer Research UK in June.

The 12th London Pride Walk and Fun Run on Sunday 3rd June 2007 from 10.30am will raise money for Cancer Research UK’s vital research work at Hammersmith Hospital.

This year is extra special as it looks certain that the total amount raised over the last 12 years will smash the £1 million target.

The fun will start at Homefields Park South, Chiswick Lane at 10.30am. An aerobic warm up, celebrity start and auction are planned and will all be supported once again by Fuller, Smith & Turner plc. Fuller’s will be providing free refreshments to all participants with prizes for the top fundraisers.

Lisa Chambers, community fundraiser for Cancer Research UK, said: “Thanks to the fantastic support we have had over the years, we are on course to ‘Make the Million’ this year. The event is great for all the family – you can walk, run or just amble around the 10km course along the banks of the Thames and among the entertainment there is something for everyone. The money raised is vital to our research work and will help Cancer Research UK find further treatments and cures."

Registration is free however each participant is encouraged to raise at least £50 in sponsorship. To register or find out more details please call 020 7438 5433 or email londonoffice@cancer.org.uk.
