Heartless thieves strike in Stamford Brook

Two men trick their way in 80 year old woman's home

An 80 year old lady from Ravensmead Way had £700 stolen from her by two men pretending to investigate a water leak.

At 10.30am on Tuesday 17 May, the women answered a knock at her door from a man claiming that there was water leaking into the flat below. She let him in and they made their way to the kitchen, where she was asked to turn on a tap. At this time the man let an accomplice into the flat.

When the men had left the woman discovered that £700 in cash was missing from a bedroom cabinet.

Police are interested in talking to two suspects. The first is a white male aged around 18, 5ft 2" tall with short dark hair and thin build, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. The other is aged around 23 years old white male, 5'10", with short dark brown hair.
