Volunteers Needed at Maggie’s Cancer Centre

Are you a good listener with spare time and a desire to help?

Do you have spare time to offer? Are you good at listening and keen to help people going through a difficult time?

Maggie’s West London Centre, on the grounds of Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith, are on the lookout for more volunteers who can help to ‘meet and greet’ visitors coming in for the first time for cancer support. The busy Centre sees 23,000 visitors a year and volunteers are an essential part of how they run, ensuring that everyone who walks through the door is greeted with a friendly face before being able to sit down with one of the expert team to talk.

They need people who are easily able to travel to W6, who are able to commit to one ‘shift’ a week, and who are confident chatting to anyone who comes through the door. You do not need to have knowledge of cancer, as the team are healthcare professionals, but good people-skills are a must!

If you are interested, please visit Maggie’s for their volunteer recruitment evening on Thursday 18th January, from 5pm – 6.30pm in their orange building on the grounds of Charing Cross Hospital, W6 8RF.

Please RSVP to london@maggiescentres.org to confirm your attendance.
