Transport Disruption This Weekend


Train and tube services affected by engineering works

If you are planning to travel over the next few weekends the following lines are affected by engineering works.

District Line

Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 January

No service between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road, or between Earl's Court and Kensington Olympia.

Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 January

No service between Hammersmith and Tower Hill. A special Circle line service operates between Edgware Road and Barking (via Victoria)

Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 January

No service between Edgware Road and Barking.

South West Trains

Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 January

All lines in the Twickenham area will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday for work on the stations.
On Sunday, services will also be affected by work at London Waterloo – please also see this information.

Saturday service

  • Trains between London Waterloo and Reading will be diverted, calling at Hounslow instead of Richmond and Twickenham.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Windsor & Eton will make extra stops and be diverted via Brentford and Hounslow.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Weybridge via Staines will run via the normal route but have minor delays.
  • Replacement bus services will run between Richmond and Hounslow via Twickenham to connect with these train services.
  • A shuttle train service will run between London Waterloo and Richmond.
  • There will be no circular service via Hounslow and Twickenham. Passengers should use the altered train services and replacement buses.
  • “Kingston Loop” services will be altered to run between London Waterloo and Shepperton via Wimbledon.
  • Replacement bus services will run between Richmond and Teddington via Twickenham to connect with the altered train service to and from Shepperton.

Sunday service – see also alterations for work at London Waterloo

  • Trains between London Waterloo and Reading will be diverted, calling at Hounslow instead of Richmond and Twickenham.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Windsor & Eton will make extra stops and also be diverted via Hounslow.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Woking via Staines will use the normal route but will not run between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction.
  • Replacement bus services will run between Barnes and Hounslow via Twickenham to connect with these train services.
  • “Kingston Loop” services will be altered to run between London Waterloo and Shepperton via Wimbledon.
  • Replacement bus services will run between Barnes and Teddington via Twickenham to connect with the altered train service to and from Shepperton.
  • The afternoon and evening service to Kingston via Hounslow will not run. Passengers should use the altered train services and replacement buses.
