Local Composer Gets Emmy Nomination For Musical Score Of Mr. Selfridge
UK composers also in the running for Downton Abbey and Restless
Three composers who are clients of local music composer agency COOL Music have each been nominated for an Emmy award for television music scores.
Locally-based composer Charlie Mole, who has been nominated for the score of ITV period drama Mr. Selfridge joins with John Lunn ( Downton Abbey) and Lorne Bale (Restless) receiving nominations for the prestigious award ceremony which will be held in Los Angeles in September.
Charlie Mole, (above) who has lived in St. Peter's Square on the border between Chiswick and Hammersmith for many years, is nominated in the category of Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) pitting him against John Lunn, who received his nomination in the same category for the music score of Downton Abbey. John Lunn won an Emmy last year for the Downton Abbey score.

Lorne Bale has been nominated in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Miniseries, Movie or special (Original Dramatic Score) for the Scottish series, Restless.

Senior composer agent at Chiswick-based COOL Music, Chris Gutch said; "We are incredibly thrilled to have three clients nominated in one year and our congratulations go to all three. It is richly deserved". The Chief Executive of COOL Music, Darrell Alexander, who lives in Chiswick, was also said to be delighted with the good news.
COOL stands for Chamber Orchestra Of London and has been contracting musicians as well as acting as a composer agency since 2000- it has offices in Chiswick and the USA and represents many leading film, television and Games composers in the industry.
Charlie's Mole's musical career began with a music scholarship to Oxford university. After graduating, he signed to Warner-Chappell as a songwriter for 10 years before embarking on a career as a film composer.
Previous musical scores include Othello (Kenneth Branagh) ,An Ideal Husband (Rupert Everett, Cate Blanchett) the St Trinian's film and sequel, Northanger Abbey, and Dorian Gray (Ben Barnes)
He has also scored cutting-edge films including High Heels and Low Lifes and written songs for Chaka Khan, Kylie Minogue, and Lenny Kravitz.
Several cast members of Downton Abbey have been nominated for the Emmy Awards this year including Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary), Maggie Smith (the Dowager Countess), Hugh Bonneville (The Earl of Grantham) and Jeremy Webb (Director). Downton is also nominated in the category of Outstanding Drama series.
