Lyric Hammersmith Announces Cast of Jack and the Beanstalk

Comedian Vikki Stone returns in this year's panto as the villain Fleshcreep

The Lyric Hammersmith has announced the cast of this year's panto, Jack and the Beanstalk, which will see award-winning comedian Vikki Stone returning as the villain Fleshscreep.

Jack and the Beanstalk will tell the classic tale of misadventure as young Jack finds a magical world in the sky with both treasure and an angry giant.

As the picture above shows, BBC Proms presenter Vikki will join Faith Omole as Jack, alongside Cherrelle Skeete as the Fairy Godmother.

Jack and the Beanstalk was written by Joel Horwood and is co-directed by the Lyric Hammersmith’s Artistic Director, Sean Holmes, as well as Jude Christian, an artistic associate of the Lyric.

The cast will also include up to six young performers from the Lyric Young Company as part of the theatre’s commitment to nurturing young local talent.

Jack and the Beanstalk runs from 18 November to 6 January and the Lyric is continuing its tradition of offering free tickets to local residents and workers through their Free First Night scheme with H&F Council for more than 20 years.

They provided 2,354 Free First Night tickets last year – and also gave 2,000 tickets to schools in the borough. For more details on the First Night scheme visit the Hammersmith Locals area of the Lyric's website.

Father Christmas will also be returning to the Lyric as he gets ready for his busiest day of the year, Christmas Eve.

Watch as he prepares his Christmas deliveries, feeds his reindeer and finally takes flight into the snowy night. Full of merry touches with plenty of live music, songs and playful puppetry this is a perfect festive treat for younger children and their families.

For children aged under six, Raymond Briggs' much loved Father Christmas will take up residence in the Lyric's Studio from Friday 18 November. The one hour show is at various times of the day until December 24.

Find out more about both festive shows at the Lyric's website.
