Lyric Young Company Host Auditions for Debut Season


Aspiring actors sought for Accidental Heroes and The Luna Club

The recently launched Lyric Young Company is the largest theatre company of its kind to be launched in the UK in recent years.

This month, LYC is holding auditions for its debut season of two shows this summer: Accidental Heroes, created by Mark Murphy and The Luna Club created by Anglo-Brazilian company, Dende Collective. Further details on how to get involved are below.

As well as offering young West Londoners the chance to perform on stage, LYC members receive a range of benefits including workshops, talks, special events and backstage access. Membership costs £5 a year.

The LYC is open to 14 – 19 year olds who live in or attend a school from the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, and Hounslow.

Audition details

Accidental Heroes - Main House

Ages: 17-19
Date & Times: Sat 12th May 10am-12noon, 1.30pm-3.30pm, 4pm-6pm / Mon 14th May 7pm-9pm / Tues 15th May 7pm-9pm

Cost: Free, but booking is essential

Audition to work with writer/director Mark Murphy, to create a highly physical show about courage and violence. Mark's previous work includes the National Theatre of Scotland's Young Company's 'Recovery Position'.

The Luna Club - Studio

Ages: 14-16
Date & Times: Tues 29th May 10.30am-12.30pm, 2.30pm-4.30pm / Wed 30th May 10.30am-12.30pm, 2.30pm-4.30pm

Cost: Free, but booking is essential

Audition to work with Anglo-Brazilian theatre-makers Dende Collective, to create the magical and bizarre world of 'The Luna Club'.

Please note that there will be second auditions for both shows. Times and dates of these will be given after the first auditions.
