Could You Volunteer with Hammersmith Community Gardens Association?

Hammersmith Community Gardens Association is hosting its monthly introduction session for people interested in becoming volunteers on Wednesday 3 July at Phoenix School Farm.

This will be an opportunity to find out more about the association's volunteering projects, how you can get involved, as well as an opportunity to visit its sites. It will be an informal session with the chance to meet current and new volunteers.

It is followed by weekly twilight gardening sessions at Phoenix School Farm in Bloemfontein Road. In July these sessions are on Thursday 4,11,18 and 25 from 2pm till 6pm.

The association says Volunteers taking part will undertake seasonal jobs on the farm such as planting and harvesting, there will also be family activities.

There is also a monthly volunteer gardening day at Loris Gardens from 11am till 3pm and a community planting day at Godolphin Gardens from 10am till 3pm.

There is no need to book for these sessions, just turn up, stay for an hour or stay for the whole session.
