Hammersmith Community Gardens Association is inviting local people to join a number of free walks and trips across London during February.

These outings - a visit to Walthamstow Wetlands nature reserve and a riverside walk exploring the legacy of Joseph Bazalgett - are open to all, with no need to book in advance.

A third trip, to Kew Garden Orchid Festival, is part of a series of funded by a grant from TFL, aimed at HCGA volunteers and those in the community who have mental or physical health conditions, are long term unemployed or socially isolated.

HCGA says while priority wll be given to those community members, everyone is welcome to come along. Booking is required for this trip, so if you would like to take part, pease call 078905 14050 or email info@hcga.org.uk.

This month there is also the regular introduction session for potential volunteers and the return of Men in Sheds and Get Out There!

Newcomers are invited to drop in to a taster session in Godolphin Gardens between 10am-3pm to meet current volunteers and join in with the different activities offered in these volunteering projects.

The Get Out There! project meets every Friday at Godolphin Garden and works on a different site each week undertaking environmental conservation and gardening projects.

Men in Sheds is a volunteer-led project, the group meets at Godolphin Gardens and work on their own projects, for example, bike maintenance or woodwork.
