The inaugural Adidas City Run through closed streets across Fulham, which was postponed in March due to bad weather has been rescheduled for Sunday, 18 November

The event, which is now part of a series of City Runs including events in Clapham and Shoreditch, will follow the same 10 km route as before, beginning and ending at Eel Brook Common and as the map above shows, taking in New Kings, Munster, Dawes, Harwood and Fulham Roads as well as Parsons Green Lane and a loop around Chelsea Football Club's Stamford Bridge.

The "mass participation" run, which is supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital, is provisionally scheduled to begin at 9.30am and end at 1pm, with the Event Village on Eel Brook Common open from 7.45am.

According to the event's website this means New Kings Road will be closed between Wandsworth Bridge Road and Parsons Green from 6am till 2pm. Nearly every street in Fulham will also be affected, from 7.30am until 11.45am to 12.30pm.

You can see full details of the proposed closures here.

The website says: "Please note the below list of roads will be affected, but might not be closed in full. There are egress points in place for residents who wish to leave the area before 8:50am. If you have any questions regarding the closures, please email community@adidascityruns.com."

The organisers say of the run: "This brand new route is London’s flattest closed road 10K and provides you with the perfect opportunity to 'Beat Your Best'!

"Starting on the iconic New Kings Road, the Fulham 10K route will take you on an unforgettable journey through one of London’s most prestigious postcodes on flat, wide roads.

" From picturesque Parsons Green through to the bustling Fulham Road – including a loop around the world famous Stamford Bridge stadium, home to Chelsea FC – the Fulham 10K route showcases the very best of this stunning part of the capital.

" Once you cross the finish line with a hard earned medal around your neck, you’ll head into our Event Village located on Eel Brook Common where you’ll be able to soak up the post run vibes and recover with some free yoga and massage."

Runners must by 16 or over to enter the run, with entrance costing £40, plus a £2.30 booking fee. For runners raising funds for Great Ormond Street, the cost is £25.

Unsurprisingly, this new event proved controversial when it was first announced earlier this year, with Chelsea and Fulham MP Greg Hands among those finding it 'worrying'.

He said in his regular e-bulletin that he was 'surprised' to hear of run, adding that he had not been consulted on it.

He said: "Even though the organisers claim that the route and road closure timings were carefully considered - including by the Labour H&F Council and Transport for London - and it is being organised for a good cause, these road closures will cause immense frustration and inconvenience for local residents."

He added: "It is incredibly worrying that the organisers are implying that this might become an annual event, and you can bet that local residents won't forget this total lack of consultation."
