DIY giant B&Q has reopened the doors of the two stores nearest Hammersmith & Fulham.

B&Q has reopened 155 across the country, including Chiswick Roundabout and Western Avenue in Acton.

The chain says that strict social distancing measures are in place in all the stores that have been reopened, with two metre floor markers throughout and Perspex screens at checkout.

The retailer has temporarily stopped services such as kitchen and bathroom design, paint mixing, timber cutting and key cutting and is only accepting card and contactless payments.

Opening times at most stores ate from 8am until 5pm, although the chain says operating hours may vary at inidvidual branches.

Homebase has also begun opening stores in a trial basis, though its local branches in Swandon Way, Wandsworth, Manor Road, Richmond and Syon Lane, Brentford are currently only offering a click and collect service from a temporary counter.

The chain says on its website: " This store is open to offer a collection and counter service.

"You can come to this store to buy the products you need at a temporary counter service. Simply choose what you want online, head to your local store, and then one of our team will select your items and bring them to a collection point where you can pay by card only.

"Creating a safe shopping environment remains our number one priority, and we have strict social distancing measures in place at all stores."

The service is available from 10am till 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am till 4pm on Sunday.
