Your Chance to Visit Our Local Recycling Centre

Book your place on free tours taking place next week

As part of Recycle Week, Hammersmith & Fulham Council is offering residents a free trip to the local recycling centre.

The theme of this year’s Recycle Week is "recycling - at home and away" and is calling on people to recycle more – at home, in work and in school, and to recycle just a little bit more than they currently do.

To mark the week, which runs from June 17-23, Hammersmith & Fulham Council is offering residents the chance what happens to their recycling after it’s been collected by the council.

Places are still available for two tours on Wednesday June 19 and Thursday June 20 to the material recovery facility (MRF) in Smugglers Way, Wandsworth, where recycling from the borough’s Smart Banks and Smart Sacks is sorted and separated.

The tours start at 10.30am and last an hour and a half. A free bus will be available on both days. It will leave Hammersmith Town Hall at 9.45am on Wednesday June 19.

The bus will leave Kensington Town Hall on Thursday. There are also another two visits on July 24 and 25 at 10.30am, though the times are to be confirmed and residents will have to make their own way there.

The maximum number of people per tour is 10 and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so book quickly, by emailing recycling@lbhf.gov.uk with your name, contact details and which tour you would prefer to attend.
