Residents Urged to Get Composting this Spring

Council encourages gardeners to invest in their own bins

Hammersmith & Fulham Council is encouraging residents to improve their gardens and help the environment by taking advantage of a special offer on composters.

To mark International Compost Awareness Week this week, Hammersmith & Fulham Council is reminding residents they can buy a composter for their garden from just £12.

More than 30% of the average household waste can be composted and reusing your food waste can help reduce carbon emissions and the amount of waste that gets incinerated.

" This is a great opportunity to improve gardens, benefit the environment and save taxpayers' money," says Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport and Residents' Services.

" We want H&F to be the greenest, most environmentally friendly council in the country and everyone can do their bit by cutting down on their household waste and recycling as much as possible."

The discounted offer comes in partnership with getcomposting.com, where residents can choose from a range of compost bins and accessories to suit everyone, from new starters to seasoned gardeners.
