Roads
The Council says it has deployed dozens of staff to help keep the borough moving. However, they say it is unlikely they will be able to clear all the snow or freezing ice. Council gritters

are currently treating all major routes across the borough.

Public Transport

TfL suspended all bus services in London last night on the grounds of safety. The vast majority of services currently remain suspended and TfL say services will only resume when road conditions allow and it is safe to do so. They say a limited bus service has resumed on a small number of bus routes including routes 16, 36, and 73 in central London and they are endeavouring to increase the number of buses operating in central London throughout the day.
Locally, the Hammersmith & City line is suspended. The Central line is suspended between Hainault and Woodford and severe delays are occurring on the rest of the line.

Children’s Services
In Children's Services only confirmed appointments and new referrals will be dealt with. There are no transport services for special educational needs pupils or adult day centres and there is no school lunch service.

Adults’ Services
Day Centres will be closed because of the unsafe travel conditions. The Council will continue to provide essential services for vulnerable elderly people.

Street cleansing
Refuse and recycling collections have been suspended today and will be rescheduled as soon as it is possible to do so. Collections will take place this week once the weather has improved. Many staff normally employed on collections have been redeployed on gritting roads and clearing snow.

Libraries & Register Office
Hammersmith library and Fulham library are both open, although they will shut from 2pm. All other libraries are closed. The registrars are open until 2pm today.

Parks
All of the borough’s parks are open although staff have been diverted to gritting the main roads and paths. Parks will close at 5pm today.

Further information
