Police treating plunge in front of Shepherd's Bush Road shoppers as suspicious

A man has fallen to his death in front of horrified shoppers from the flats above Tesco in Shepherd's Bush Road.

Police say they are treating the incident as suspicious.

The victim, believed by police to be in his late forties, fell 100 feet from the top floor of the building, in Barb Mews just off Shepherd's Bush Road, shortly before 5.15pm on Tuesday.

Emergency services rushed to his aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Police were called to Barb Mews, W6, shortly before 5.15pm on January 7, following reports of a man fallen from a building.

"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found the body of a man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Police believe they know the identity of the man who is thought to be aged in his late forties.

"An investigation has begun into the circumstances of the death which at this stage is being treated as suspicious."
