DC Ian Payne was convicted of possession of cocaine

Detective Constable Ian Payne, 45, who was Hammersmith and Fulham police officer has today been dismissed from the Metropolitan Police after he was convicted of possession of cocaine.

DC Ian Payne, based in the borough's specialist crime and operations team, admitted possession of cocaine at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on January 28 after he was arrested while on duty at around 2pm on November 1, 2013 in Wimbledon.

The 45-year-old was given a three month curfew, was ordered to pay £155 in costs and was suspended from the Met Police pending a misconduct hearing on April 22 which saw him formally dismissed.
