Two Men in Hospital after Shootings in Hammersmith and Notting Hill

Police say there is nothing to suggest two incidents are connected

Two men in their twenties are in a serious but stable condition in hospital following shootings in Hammersmith and Notting Hill on Sunday May 26 and Monday May 27.

The first shooting took place in the back garden of a home in Hammersmith Grove at 6.45pm on Sunday.

The second attack was in Colville Gardens, North Kensington, where a 27 year- old man was shot in the leg in a drive-by shooting at 7. 20pm on Monday. Police say his injury is not life-threatening.

Police say one line of inquiry is that the incidents are gang related.

Three men were arrested at the scene in Hammersmith Grove at the time of the incident, though their arrests are not connected with the shooting.

Two of the men were arrested for intent to supply drugs and the third was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.

The Hammersmith victim is in a stable condition at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington. It is thought one bullet passed through his back, lung and arm - narrowly missing his rib cage.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with either shooting but detectives said there is nothing to suggest that the shootings are linked.
