Help Shape Future of Cycling in Borough

Consultation aims to help increase pedal power in H&F

Residents in Hammersmith & Fulham are invited to give views on how cycling in the borough can be made safer and more enjoyable.

Launching a major consultation, H&F Council hopes feedback from cyclists, as well as motorists and pedestrians, will inform a new strategy for local routes.

This includes tackling some of the major challenges to cycling locally. Specifically, the council wants views on new proposals such as a cycle route from Hounslow to Kensington and Chelsea running along King Street/Hammersmith Road, as well as improvements to existing routes such as Hammersmith Bridge.

" We want to see more pedal power in the borough," says Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport, Environment and Residents' Services.

" Cycling is a healthy and clean way to get around. But we also want everyone to be travelling safely, including pedestrians and motorists. We know there is still some work to be done to make our road network better for everyone, so we are appealing for your feedback on our approach to cycling in H&F."

The feedback and comments from this consultation will help shape the H&F Cycling Strategy. If there is strong support from residents, businesses and other stakeholders, the strategy is expected to be launched next spring.

To take part in the consultation, complete this online survey by next Friday, January 16.
