Join a Sponsored Walk in Ravenscourt Park

And raise funds for vital work done by Diabetes UK

Local residents are invited to take part in a three mile sponsored walk in Ravenscourt Park on Sunday June15 to raise vital funds for Diabetes UK.

The challenge is part of the Walk for Diabetes series of sponsored events around the country. The walks are aiming to help people to be more physically active and to live a healthier lifestyle.

The walk starts at 10.30am. It is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs and dogs on leads are welcome.

Diabetes UK say walking is an excellent way to keep fit and combined with a healthy balanced diet it can reduce your risk of Type 2 diabetes. Over seven million people are at high risk of developing the condition in the UK. Making lifestyle changes can be easier than you think; you don’t have to run a marathon, instead take small steps that all add up to big changes.

The money raised from the walks will help Diabetes UK continue important work in reducing the rising tide of Type 2 diabetes, fund life changing research into the condition, and help everyone with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes manage their condition effectively.

The charity is working in partnership with Truvia calorie free sweetener for the second year running, and all fundraisers who sign up will receive a free goodie bag.

For more information on signing up for the Walk for Diabetes, or if you are interested in organising your own walk, get in touch with the fundraising team by emailing events.fundraising@diabetes.org.uk
