Food Assembly Comes to Hammersmith's Riverside

New way to click and collect food direct from farmers and producers

Hammersmith is to have its own Food Assembly, based at the Crabtree pub in Rainville Road from November.

There are already 700 Food Assemblies open across the country, including one in Putney and it recently won the title of Best Retailer at the Urban Food Awards.

The Food Assembly aims to give people the chance to buy the best food available, directly from local farmers and foodmakers.

Members of the Assembly can shop at the online market, choosing from a wide range of local products: fruit, vegetables, bread, cheese, meat, beer and much more.

They can then collect their order each week and enjoy meeting both the people behind the food and their neighbours.

The hosts of the Hammersmith Food Assembly say it is still being built but already has over 15 producers, including Fulham's Ma Baker, Halva Bakery and ChicP, makers of a variety of hummus, plus fresh fish, salads, produce from free range farms and more.

You can see the full list of producers here.

Local foodies are invited to join the Assembly now and host Floriane Malot will let them know when the market is open.
