Local NHS Trust Hosts Live Web Chat on Epilepsy

Submit your questions from 2.30pm on Friday May 22

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is hosting a web chat on Friday May 22 between 3pm and 4pm to mark National Epilepsy Week, which runs from May 17 to 23.

The chat, called Living with Epilepsy, offers local people the chance to ask consultant neurologist, Alex Everitt, any epilepsy related question, including:

What is epilepsy?
What are the causes of epilepsy?
How is epilepsy diagnosed?
How do you treat epilepsy? And what are the potential side effects of epilepsy medication?
Can brain surgery for epilepsy be helpful?
Are there any risks associated with epilepsy?

Alex Everitt has worked in the neurology department at the Trust for 12 years. Alex has lots of experience in managing patients with epilepsy and isolated epileptic seizures.

Everyone, including patients, the public, GPs and other health workers are invited to submit questions from 2.30pm on Friday May 22 via the Trust's web chat system. All queries can be submitted anonymously.

You can also follow the chat or submit questions in advance through our twitter channel @imperialnhs and hashtag #epilepsyweek.
