Cinderella 2019 Kicks Off Hammersmith's Christmas Celebrations

Lyric offers panto for older kids and Raymond Briggs' Father Christmas for little ones

Raymond Briggs' Father Christmas is back for younger children

Christmas fun kicks off in Hammersmith on Saturday 16 November, when the curtain rises on this year's pantomime, Cinderella 2019.

The Lyric says: " It's time to polish your glass slippers, dust off your carriage and join as the clock strikes midnight for the Fairy Godmother of pantomimes, Cinderella.

"Expect the usual Lyric twist on Wicked Stepmothers, Ugly Stepsisters, pumpkins, mice and more.

"You shall go to the ball with this festive fairy tale treat. Word has it that if you leave it too late to book, you might turn into a pumpkin…"

The panto, written by Jude Christian and directed by Tinuke Craig, stars Timmika Ramsay as Cinderella, Gabriel Fleary as Bob the Prince, Jodie Jacobs as Buttons and Rhys Taylor as Fairy Fredbare.

It is suitable for children aged six and up, and for families of all ages. Tickets, priced from £10 to £44 can be booked here or by calling the Box Office on 020 8741 6850.

Afterwards, join the conversation and offer your opinions by tweeting at #LyricPanto and #Cinderella.

For smaller children under six and their families, The Lyric is welcoming back the ever-popular Raymond Briggs' Father Christmas, from Wednesday 20 November.

Join Santa as he awakes from a dream of sun, sea and sand only to find it is the busiest day of the year: Christmas Eve.

The show, co-presented with Pins & Needles Productions, runs at various times, from 9.30am till 2pm and lasts 60 minutes. Find out more and book tickets here.

Tickets are also available for the Lyric's other festive events in December, including:

Vikki Stone: Songbird is a special one-off performance of Vikki's hit 2019 show.

After sell-out performances and five star reviews at this year’s Edinburgh fringe, she brings her trademark mix of songs and stand-up to the Lyric's Christmas one-nighters, along with a very special warm up act from her Lyric panto past.

Blood on the Tracks The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is proud to host Colin Murray’s podcast Blood on the Tracks live for the very first time.

Blood on the Tracks is about people and the soundtracks to their lives. Colin takes four random personalities and locks them in a room with only their personal record collection for protection. From this moment onwards, anything goes…

Joining Colin for the first ever live recording of his hugely popular podcast will be comedians Russell Kane and Al Murray, and singers Chelcee Grimes and Jack Savoretti.

Joe Stillgoe's Christmas House Party Back by overwhelming demand, Joe returns to the Lyric Hammersmith for his fourth consecutive year with this year’s festive offering - Joe Stilgoe’s Christmas House Party.

Once again, Joe will be joined for one night only by his stupendous band and star guests, Hadley Fraser, Hackney Colliery Brass Band and Claire Martin, with more guests in the pipeline.

Expect a mix of the old, the new, classics and surprises, all tied up neatly with a bow.
