Cllr Daryl Brown is New Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham


North End ward councillor takes over from Michael Cartwright

Cllr Daryl Brown has been inaurgurated as the new Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham at the Hammersmith and Fulham Annual Council and Mayor Making meeting on 23 May.

Cllr Brown, the Labour councillor in North End ward, was Deputy Mayor last year and takes over from Michael Cartwright, who has retired.

At the meeting, Cllr Stephen Cowan was re-confirmed as Council Leader.

They take office following the local elections on 3 May, which saw 35 councillors elected for Labour and 11 for the Conservatives.

Other Cabinet and committee appointments were also confirmed at the Annual Council meeting:

  • Deputy Leader – Cllr Sue Fennimore
  • Cabinet Member for Children and Education – Cllr Larry Culhane
  • Cabinet Member for the Economy and the Arts – Cllr Andrew Jones
  • Cabinet Member for the Environment – Cllr Wesley Harcourt
  • Cabinet Member for Finance and Commercial Services – Cllr Max Schmid
  • Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care – Cllr Ben Coleman
  • Cabinet Member for Housing – Cllr Lisa Homan
  • Cabinet Member for Public Services Reform – Cllr Adam Connell
  • Cabinet Member for Strategy – Cllr Sue Macmillan
