Discuss Local Crime Issues at Public Meeting
Public invited to hear from former council leader at Town Hall
Residents who would like to discuss local crime issues are invited to a public meeting at Hammersmith Town Hall on March 11 from 6.30pm.
In early 2013, Stephen Greenhalgh, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime and former Leader of Hammersmith and Fulham Council visited every London borough to talk about the Mayor of London’s draft Police and Crime Plan. The final plan was published in March 2013 and committed to:
Reduce key crimes by 20% - which means up to 250,000 fewer crimes;
Boost public confidence in the police by 20%; and
Cut costs by 20%, by delivering £500millon worth of savings.
The Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime is now revisiting every London borough in 2014 with senior Metropolitan Police officers to talk about local policing.
Cllr Greg Smith, H&F Council Deputy Leader, says: " Crime is at an all-time low in H&F and continues to fall thanks to the fantastic joint working between residents’ groups - like Neighbourhood Watch - and various council and police teams.
" Extra beat Police combined with other zero-tolerance measures mean H&F is now safer than ever but we are determined to drive crime down further. This meeting is the latest chance for residents to hear how the Mayor’s Police and Crime Plan has been put into practice and to get answers to your questions."
