Sainsbury's Opens on Friday on Shepherd's Bush Road

Providing 25 local jobs and supporting Shepherd's Bush Families Project

Representatives of local charity Shepherd's Bush Families Project and Children's Centre will open the new Sainsbury's convenience store at 48/50 Shepherd's Bush Road at 9am on Friday May 30.

The convenience store, Sainsbury’s 200th in London, has chosen Shepherd's Bush Families Project and Children's Centre, which is based in Bulwer Street, as its Charity of the Year. It helps families who are homeless or have other unmet housing needs and suffer social and economic hardship in Shepherds Bush and the borough.

The store on Shepherd’s Bush Road has employed 25 local people and offers a broad range of convenience goods for local residents looking to top-up their main food shop.

Sainsbury's says it represents 16 years of convenience growth since it opened its first local store, also in Hammersmith, in 1998.

New manager Yash Desai says: " I am really looking forward to opening our new Hammersmith shop and welcoming customers for the first time. I have a great team in place and our aim is to provide a fresh range of products, excellent customer service and to be part of the local thriving business community."
