Do You Know Steam Railway Supporter 'Peter'?

Friends at Severn Valley Railway concerned for welfare of Fulham pensioner

Bob Mills, who is a working volunteer on the Severn Valley Railway has contacted FulhamSW6.com asking for information about an elderly man from Fulham who is a keen supporter of the railway.

Bob, who is based at Bridgnorth Permanent Way Dept, says: "After our shift we meet up with various visitors in the Railwaymans Arms Pub on Bridgnorth Railway Station. For the last three years a regular visitor every Saturday was a man named Peter (???) aged about 70-75, a retired accountant, who lived alone in the Fulham area of London.

"The railway is closed in January and February but when we returned at the beginning of March Peter failed to arrive. and he has not been seen since. This is most unusual as he was a very keen supporter of the Severn Valley Railway.

"He used to travel by train from London to Birmingham then by train to Kidderminster and then transferred to the steam railway and arrive at Bridgnorth at about 11.30am each Saturday.

"All the people he associated with at Bridgnorth are concerned that he may have passed away or some other accident or illness has befallen him. Our main concern is that if he lived alone he has not been missed."

Bob is asking anyone who recognises Peter from his description and knows what has happened to him to contact him, either by emailing him directly at millsy164@btopenworld.com or through us at editor@fulhamsw6.com.
