Hammersmith's Summer Festival Continues in Lyric Square

Enjoy tennis and opera on the Big Screen or join a free fitness or yoga session

Hammersmith's annual Summer Festival continues throughout July, with Lyric Square's Big Screen offering a range of sporting events and opera and film nights.

Wimbledon in the Square is continuing to show all the action from SW19 daily from midday right through till the excitement of the Men's Final on 16 July.

On 14 July, Turandot is the second of two Live Operas to be screened live from the Royal Opera House.

Go beyond the famous aria Nessun Dorma in The Royal Opera's famously spectacular production of Puccini’s final masterpiece, which will transport you to legendary China in all its pageantry and savagery, with disguised identities, puzzles and ritual executions.

Princess Turandot subjects her suitors to cryptic riddles only to execute them when they fail to answer correctly. Will our hero Calaf solve the riddles and win the Princess? Come and find out from 6.30pm.

Also continuing are free lunchtime fitness and yoga sessions. On Tuesdays throughout July, join Fitness First, who will lead you through routines from 12.30pm to 1pm.

On Wednesday 12 and 19 July, Lumi Power Yoga will be hosting free Yoga in the Square sessions from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. And for the first time during Hammersmith's Summer Festival, Lumi Foundation will also be launching Mindful Moments.

These mindfulness sessions, led by a yoga teacher, are designed to help you stop, relax and breathe as well as improving focus and wellbeing. Join in the free sessions on Lyric Square on 26 July at 12.30pm, 1pm and 1.30pm.

Hammersmith's Summer Festival also offers shoppers, residents and local workers the chance to take a break and snack and soak up the summer atmosphere at giant 20 foot long Picnic in the Square tables.
