Hammersmith's Summer Festival Continues in June

With lunchtime picnics, screening of Mamma Mia! and Highline exhibition

Hammersmith's annual Summer Festival is back with events continuing through June and July.

The Big Screen returns to Lyric Square for free films, opera and sports, including live tennis from Wimbledon, along with picnics in the square, book swaps and more.

Organised by Hammersmith BID and local architect group West London Link, the competition aims to forge ideas that could transform the 300m elevated stretch of viaduct into an attraction similar to New York City’s High Line.

On Tuesday 25 June, from 7pm, there will be a film night with a free outdoor screening of the ultimate summer movie, Mamma Mia!

Thers will also be Picnics in the Square on 24-26 June and 15-17 July, from 12pm-3pm.

Relax, ping-pong or picnic al-fresco during lunchtimes. Soak up the atmosphere with free Hammersmith BID deckchairs and picnic tables.

From this weekend, you can also catch a Hammersmith Highline Exhibition, from 22-30 June, with entries from the public ideas competition to generate proposals for a Hammersmith Highline on a disused railway viaduct, on display at Kings Mall.
