Teens Invited to Take Over H&F Council

13-19 year-olds can apply now to take on one of 35 activities on November 20

Hammersmith and Fulham Council is offering 150 teenagers the opportunity to move into the Town Hall and take it over.

Takeover Day, supported by the Children’s Commissioner is coming to the borough on Friday November 20.

There are 35 activities for young people to take part in, from those for just one or two participants, to others for large groups. They will learn new skills, gain valuable experience and get a certificate from the mayor.

They will also be able to have their say about how the council is run.

" This year we’re hosting the biggest Takeover Day ever," says Cllr Sue Macmillan, H&F Cabinet Member for Children and Education.

" It is the perfect way for young people to build their confidence, have their say about the council and get an exciting taste of the career opportunities out there."

" With such a wide range of opportunities to choose from, there’s bound to be something to interest everyone. Make sure you send your application in early to ensure you have the best chance of getting the roles you want."

Young people must apply by Wednesday November 4 for the council for their application to be considered. Visit the Youth Involvement Pages for an application pack.
