London's 1,000th Electric Vehicle Charging Point Goes Live in Fulham

There are now points within 400 metres of every home or business in the borough

London's 1,000th electric vehicle charging point has been opened in Crondace Road, off Fulham's Eel Brook Common.

It has been installed by Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s partners, Source London. It's managing director, Christophe Arnaud said: "We are delighted to have reached our 1,000th charge point – this is a milestone not for us, but for London."

Cllr Stephen Cowan, Leader of the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, was joined by executives from Source London and parent company, Bollore, for the unveiling in Fulham, pictured above,

Source London’s charging points were the first to be installed 'on-street' in our borough.

The demand for electric vehicles continues to grow and during March 2019, Source London’s charging points in H&F were used for 5,500 hours – compared with just 3,250 in March 2018.

"Over the last five years, we’ve worked hard to deliver the largest electric vehicle charging network in London," said Cllr Cowan.

"By the end of this year, we’ll have more than 250 charging points across H&F. And along with the Blue City electric car club from Source London, we’re making it easier than ever for our residents to go electric and help cut air pollution."

H&F Council will shortly install the last of 81 new lamppost column charging points to further bolster the network and make it easier for users to find a charging point near their home.

Combined with the Source London network and other rapid and fast-charge points in H&F, there’s now an EV charging point within 400m of every home or business in the borough.

The council was also the first in London to launch the Blue City Electric Car Club. You can find out more about the club here
