Free WiFi Now Available on Borough's Busiest Streets

Register to receive 30 minutes free each day in our town centres

Free WiFi is now awailable in streets within the borough's three town centres.

Following a deal between H&F Council and telecoms company Arqiva, you can now search for '_Free HF WiFi' on your laptop, smartphone or tablet in the list of available Wi-Fi networks and then select it and connect.

Registered users get 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi a day and can buy more time on a pay-as-you go basis. There is no time limit for accessing services on the council’s website.

The council says this isn’t costing taxpayers a penny as telecoms company Arqiva has paid to install its network on the borough’s lampposts and will share any income with the council to spend on services for residents.

" We hope residents and visitors will find the new service useful when they need a quick bit of information from the internet while out and about in the borough," says Cllr Ben Coleman, H&F Cabinet Member for Commercial Revenue and Resident Satisfaction.

" We also hope that being able to access the council’s website free 24 hours a day will encourage residents to make use of the growing number of council services online, from paying bills to applying for a parking permit."
