Chiswick RNLI Recover Second Body From River

Two young men were found separately at Barnes and Putney

Chiswick RNLI has announced that it has recovered a second body from the Thames.

The lifeboat team responded to two incidents yesterday (Jan 8). The first body was recovered near the foreshore at Putney Bridge at 0800 and the second at 1630 near Barnes. Both bodies were of young men.

Station Manager Wayne Bellamy, who was on board the lifeboat for both of the recoveries, said: “Chiswick RNLI's thoughts and prayers are with the families of two young men whose bodies were recovered from the River Thames on Tuesday, Jan 8 2013. Our Lifeboat Crew had the sad duty of recovering them from the river.”

Mr Bellamy said he could not imagine what these times have been like for the families of the two young men not knowing where they were.

“I truly hope that now we have found them, we have helped in some way," he said.
