Hammersmith's Riverside Studios has announced the suspension of all its performances and public events due to the current crisis.

On its website, the venue said:" We take the health and safety of our staff, performers and audience very seriously at Riverside Studios. The ongoing situation with COVID19 has meant we are unable to sustain business as usual.

"In light of the guidance we have received from SOLT, we will be suspending all performances, public events and film screenings with immediate effect until further notice in the interests of our audiences, artists and community."

And its latest update, the venue says that regrettably it has also closed its Studio 8 Cafe and Bar and Studio 7 Coffee Shop.

Adjacent restaurant Sam's Riverside restaurant remains open and Riverside Studios TV Studios continue operating as normal.

As well as the closure of Riverside Studios' recently opened cinemas, the suspension means the cancellation of further performances of the acclaimed two part play Love, Loss and Chianti, written by poet Christopher Reid and co-starring Cold Feet Robert Bathurst and Rebecca Johnson.

The venue says patrons who have purchased tickets are entitled to a full refund, but asks those who are able, to consider donating the value of their tickets to the Riverside Trust charity.

The venue says," As a charity that is solely dependent on donations, ticket sales and public footfall, the current state of affairs will have a hugely damaging impact on us, and any and all support will not only be greatly appreciated, but will also help to ensure the future success of Riverside Studios and the work we programme.

" You may, of course prefer to receive a refund and, if that’s the case please contact our box office to get that done. The email address is boxoffice@riversidestudios.co.uk."

The venue adds, " Look after yourselves and those around you - and we hope to welcome you back to Riverside Studios soon."
