cookery school called ginger Whisk

Cookery writer and Chiswick local Lucy Cufflin has opened the Ginger Whisk cookery school in a new contemporary development behind Turnham Green Terrace.

Highlights from Lucy’s cookery class line-up include a Macaroon Masterclass, ‘From Pig to Pie’ and ‘For the love of bread’. There will be classes during the holidays for the little ones too, affectionately called ‘Little Chefs Club: best cookies ever!’ There will be Sunday morning classes to show how to make muffins and crumpets, which can then be enjoyed back at home with the Sunday papers.

There are also plans to invite chefs and food experts from all over West London to come in and host demos, supper clubs and classes. Michal Snela, Head Chef at Charlotte’s Bistro on Turnham Green Terrace is planning a class where he will show keen home cooks how to cook like a pro. Hanwell cookery writer Catherine Phipps will share her enthusiasm for citrus fruits, and Jonathan Phang, - local broadcaster and author of Caribbean cookbook ‘The Pepperpot Club’ - will be sharing his skills.

Lucy will be drawing on her years of cookery demo experience (Lucy has managed all the cookery training for Skiworld for the past 15 years) and in her home town of Leicester is a well-known face on the foodie scene, where she hosts classes and supper clubs on a regular basis.

In addition to the cooking school, Ginger Whisk has a selection of props for hire, featuring all sorts of ‘one-off’ ceramics, glassware pieces and kitchenalia. Lucy and her business partner, professional photographer Jacqui Melville, have also created modern photographic studios alongside the Cookery School, housing fully-fitted kitchens and a complete range of appliances, gadgets and a pantry.

Ginger Whisk is at 14 Turnham Green Terrace Mews, Chiswick W4 1QU.
