CCTV Footage Released After North End Road Assault


Police want to speak to man and woman pictured in Riz Repair

Video footage has been released of an unprovoked attack that took place on a shopkeeper in the North End Road.

Hammersmith and Fulham police are hoping the public will be able to identify a man and a woman who were filmed on CCTV during the incident.

On Wednesday, 21 September at about noon a man and a woman, aged in their thirties, entered Riz Repai.

They stated they wanted a replacement for a product they had previously bought. The shopkeeper looked at the item and told them that he did not sell that product in his store.

The man refused to accept what the shopkeeper was saying. While that was happening, the woman allegedly went behind the counter and stole a couple of phone accessories and handed them to the man. The man and the woman went to leave the store and the shopkeeper followed them and asked them to give the products back. The man then turned around and head butted the shopkeeper. The pair fled the scene in the direction of Sedlescombe Road.

The victim sustained a deep cut above his eye which required stitches.

The man is described as black, of large build, about 30 to 35 years old, with short black hair. He was wearing dark clothing.The woman is described as black, of large build, about 30 years old, with dark chest length hair with red streaks. She was wearing a dark coloured top.

CCTV Footage Released After Fulham Shop Assault

Detective Constable Amit Tailor, the investigating officer from Hammersmith and Fulham CID, said, "This was an unprovoked assault on a man who was just going about his day to day business. The attack resulted in him receiving a nasty injury which has scarred his face. The assault took place during the day in a busy area of Fulham. I am hoping that someone in the area recalls the incident or recognises the two customers in the CCTV."
