Open Air Cinema to Open in Ravenscourt Park

Inflatable screen will pop up over Bank Holiday weekend

Ravenscourt Park is about to be transformed into a giant open-air cinema.

A large screen will be erected in Hammersmith's favourite park over the Bank Holiday weekend, from Friday May 27 until Sunday May 29 and will show some of the most famous movies of the last 30 years.

By using a large inflatable screen that is quick to erect and dismantle, the screen pops up for a single screening, providing a unique cinema going experience, before disappearing again.

The films will be running from Friday May 27 to Sunday May 29, from 7pm to 11pm and films screened will include Anchorman, The Big Lebowski and Ghostbusters.

Organisers Pop Up Screens says local people are invited to spend a summer evening in the park enjoying a proper cult movie with a cold beer or glass of wine, a hot box of popcorn and one of Tucker's Exotic Burgers ( Buffalo, Ostrich, Springbok, Wild Boar or Wildebeest).

Tickets priced £7 for one night or £18 for all three are available from www.popupscreens.co.uk. The council will also be writing to residents who live close to Ravenscourt Park and providing them details of how they can purchase half-price tickets.

For further enquires contact the council at events@lbhf.gov.uk or call 0845 337 0314.
