Wise Up with...crime prevention advice

HammersmithLondon in conjunction with the MET Police are hosting a crime prevention workshop.

The workshop will be taking place on Thurday November 17, midday - 2pm and will inform the public about the serious bag dipping crime which is on the rise in Hammersmith town centre. The MET police are warning all shoppers of Hammersmith to put in place preventative measures to combat this new wave of crime and useful tips to avoid being victim of such a crime. A demonstration will also take place in the afternoon to show how easy it is to be a victim.

Wise Up.....with Book Swap

HammersmithLondon in conjunction with Books for Amnesty, will be presenting Hammersmith's autumnal Book Swap event, which has proven to be a popular way to mix books, writers and the reading public in the past.

How it Works

The event will take place in the HammersmithLondon gazebo, Lyric Square over 2 days and book lovers are invited to bring along a selection of reading books they would like to swap. If you find something you like, you may ask to swap, with another Book Swap goer and vice versa. That's recycling in action!

What kind of books are swapped?

All kinds! From your old blockbusters to your heavy novels such as "War and Peace". No book is excluded.

What time does the swap start?

12noon, lasting about 2 hours, on November 16 and 17.

REMEMBER YOU MUST BRING A BOOK TO BE SWAPPED!

Wise Up....to the Olympics Games

Reduce, Re-time, Re-route, Re-mode

Next summer the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be coming to town, with the Olympic Games taking place between July 27 and August 12 and the Paralympic Games running from August29 to September 9.

Public transport and roads across London will be impacted and will operate differently. This will affect residents, suppliers, business owners and employees travelling around London.

Travel Advice for Business (TAB) is working with businesses across London and beyond to help them prepare for the transport impacts of the Games. The TAB team will be attending the Wise Up community event to provide advice on travel throughout the Games.
